Zain Iraq – ITEX 2026 Exhibition Stand, Baghdad International Fair
Under a partnership agreement with Zain Iraq, the telecommunications company, CMS GROUP designs and builds the Zain Iraq / Horizon stand for ITEX 2026 at the Baghdad International Fair: a 26-metre biomorphic canopy of 3D-printed shells on an engineered steel structure, with stage, lighting, screens and branding – CMS Contracting leading structure, installation and fit-out, Brandkom the branding and graphics.
The stand
The stand occupies a 26.0 m × 6.0 m footprint with a maximum height of 3.5 m. Its signature is a continuous biomorphic, tree-like canopy: 5 primary "hero" columns (1.8 m diameter) and 12 secondary columns (1.2 m) branch upward into an interwoven organic mesh ceiling with LED channels routed inside the printed geometry, terminating in a curved feature wall with honeycomb-pattern cladding and a recessed brand and screen zone. Four sculptural "jellyfish" light pods hang beneath the canopy.
Beneath the canopy: a 156 m² stage platform with concealed LED border lighting, demo and display tables for ICT and B2B products, meeting areas, track lighting, digital signage screens, monumental floor logos and vertical stand labels.

How it is built: steel structure + robotic 3D printing
The stand uses a hybrid approach. CMS Contracting engineers and fabricates the load-bearing steel frame for all 17 columns, the canopy support grid and the stage substructure, and executes the electrical, AV and installation works on site. The architectural shells – canopy mesh, feature-wall and column claddings, suspended pods – are produced by robotic 6-axis 3D printing with a specialist fabrication partner, surface-finished and painted in the factory, then fixed to the steel frame under the partner's technical supervision. Every printed element is 3D-scanned against the design model to a ±2 mm tolerance.
Computational design
Parametric model of the canopy, columns and mesh; structural verification of the steel frame under static and dynamic loads.
Parallel fabrication
Steel frame fabricated by CMS while the printed shells are produced (about six weeks), with print simulation before every run.
Shipping & assembly
Custom-crated shells shipped to Baghdad; frame erected and shells fixed to a step-by-step assembly manual.
Handover before opening
Lighting, cabling, screens and branding commissioned; stand handed over ahead of the exhibition opening, with technical support throughout the event.
